Affiliates

Think Life Media uses affiliate programs to help support the site. Unlike many people relying entirely on affiliates, we do not join every affiliate program we are able. We only join programs for products and services which are known to us to have a good reputation and quality services. In short, if we would not use it, we will not join that program. We do not necessarily use all these services, but we are familiar enough with them to recommend them. If you have any concerns, please let me know.

ProWritingAid

ProWritingAid is a privacy-respecting alternative to Grammarly with similar usage. Sadly no native Linux support, but they do have a Firefox/Chrome addon which works well.

ExpressVPN
ExpressVPN is a VPN is emerging as one of the best VPN companies in 2020. With the controversies of Private Internet Access and Nord (Both are also still affiliates, but with caution), I wanted to add this as a possibly more trusted VPN to use going forward.
Mint Mobile
Mint Mobile is a reseller of T-Mobile service that cuts cost by offering three, six, or 12 month purchase up front. I like this service because they do not have limitations on sharing the mobile hotspot on my phone, which most pre-paid plans do limit that function.

Web Hosting

A2hosting

We have been using A2hosting for over six months when our old EIG owned hosting became intolerable. A2hosting has worked out well, they support LetsEncrypt and Comodo CPanel SSLs at least in the VPS. They sell a variety of hosting packages for any need. The image below is our affiliate link.

In Motion Hosting

We have not used InMotion Hosting but it does come highly recommended by other developers and technologists. They are a full service hosting company with shared hosting options, VPS servers, and more. Their shared hosting features free SSL and a domain name. Check out their offerings with the link below.

DigitalOcean

DigitalOcean is a scaleable cloud computing platform with buckets starting at $5/mo and a variety of configuration options. Digital Ocean is a little more complex than a basic hosting package, but offers root terminal access to servers for any kind of advanced web-based computing. Check out the offerings with the link below.

Siteground

Siteground is a great starter hosting company for a low-cost and high quality shared servers. Their servers are reliable and offer simple LetsEncrypt SSLs even on the shared servers. I have used this company for several clients over the years and we did not have any issues. Check out the logo below for the affiliate link.

VPNs

Private Internet Access

Private Internet Access is a US-based VPN provider with 3520+ servers in over 30 countries. They allow 5 simultaneous connections and do not keep logs.

Nord VPN

NordVPN is a Panama-based VPN company with servers around the world. They do not keep logs and allow up to 6 simultaneous connections.

Shopping

I use Amazon because you can use cash with a gift card and many products can be shipped to a pickup location. While Amazon is a little on the controversial side, I do like that they have a good affiliate program and great payout options for authors. The image below is our Amazon affiliate link.
